Bank of America will be eliminating the overdraft debit card payment fee for all customers

In a surprise, Bank of America said in a public statement they will be eliminating the overdraft debit card payment fee for all customers. This move can be seen as a sort of pre-emptive strike against the New Federal Reserve ruling that prevents banks from charging overdraft fees after July 1st.

This move by Bank of America was lit when the New Federal Reserve ruling came out. The ruling stipulates that banks will have to gain permission from account holders before charging them with overdraft fees from both debit card purchases and ATM withdrawals. Read more
